Job Type – Permanent and Associate
Base Location – UK Wide – our Consultants work on client projects throughout the UK, therefore the location of the work will vary.
Roles & Responsibilities
Providing specialist testing expertise to our clients including:
- Defining the project scope, objectives, and undertaking test planning.
- Working closely with other project and client’s staff to gain approval for, and commitment to, the project scope, objectives, and the Test Plan.
- Mentoring other Test Analysts during the Test Analysis and Design, Test Build and Test Execution phases of a Test Stage.
- Analysing a system to identify and prioritize Test Requirements that will validate to a client that the system will behave as required in its intended environment.
- Mapping identified Test Requirements back to the client’s overall business requirements.
- Specifying the Test Environments and Data necessary to fulfil the Test Requirements.
- Collating Test Requirements, Test Environment specifications and Data specifications into an overall Test Specification.
- Using appropriate techniques to design Test Cases, Test Scripts, and Test Data that address identified Test Requirements, and collating them into an overall Test Design.
- Writing the detailed Test Scripts required to exercise Test Cases.
- Working with project and client’s staff to resolve issues that may arise from time to time throughout the Test Project.
- Estimating with very good accuracy (+/- 10%) the effort required to execute assigned tasks, and reporting on the status of those tasks.
- Undertaking the role of a Tester when appropriate.
Experience Required
Good working knowledge of common ICT facilities including MS Office tools, email, and the internet.
5+ years in testing or management roles on IT projects, at least 2 of which will be in a Test Analyst or Test Engineer role.
ISEB Testing Foundation Accreditation.
Either educated to degree level or an equivalent combination of education and business or IT experience.
Desirable Experience
Experience of working in the Financial Services, Banking or Insurance industry is desirable.
